Game of War: Fire Age – Crafting – Food Production

Game of War: Fire Age – Crafting – Food ProductionOne of the most important aspects of Game of War: Fire Age is generating a large amount of food so you can support a massive army. There are quite a few things you can do to generate a large amount of food, but right now I am going to focus specifically on using crafting to increase your food production.

Your hero starts out with six equipment slots in which you can use equipment that give you bonuses to different aspects of your kingdom. There is one helmet slot, one armor slot, one foot armor slot, one weapon slot, and two accessory slots (if you have a level 21 Forge you get a third accessory slot). Lets look at each of these slots individually because certain ones will help you with your food production more than others.

Helmet Slot – The first helmet I always pick up for my heroes is the Myrmillo Helm which requires Hero Level 22. At level two (white) it provides a fantastic 51.2% food production increase, in addition to bonuses to cavalry attack and infantry attack. After that, you have a long wait till Hero Level 50 where you have three options: Hercules’s Helmet, Alexander’s Helmet or Achilles’s Helmet. Overall, for the best food bonuses the Hercules’s Helmet is the clear winner as it doubles the production rate of the other two.

Armor Slot – This slot is not going to really help you when it comes to food production. There is the Black Cloak at Hero Level 5, the Robe at Hero Level 12, and the Thief’s Cloak at Hero Level 14, but all of these provide very small bonuses. With the armor slot, I focus on getting a piece of equipment that has a solid bonus to troop load. The armor slot is full of great pieces from the lowest to the highest levels that help with this stat. This will help you go out and farm resource tiles, which can include food if you need it. Try the Samnite Armor at Hero Level 26, the Golden Fleece at Hero Level 40, or either Alexander’s Armor or Apollo’s Armor at Hero Level 50.

Foot Armor Slot – This slot is a tricky slot as well. In the beginning I will pick up the Winged Sandals at Hero Level 19 which is really the only piece of armor that provides decent food production bonuses. At level two (white) it provides a 23.2% food production increase. But when you get to the later levels, like the main armor slot, I start looking for something with troop load. This slot is my least favorite slot because there isn’t any particular piece that really jumps out at me. I’d say get the Winged Sandals early and leave them on while you focus on other areas.

Weapon Slot – At Hero Level 20 pick up the Sickle. At level two (white) it provides a 48% production increase. There is also the Javelin at Hero Level 30 which overall is a better item, but it does not outperform the Sickle if you are strictly looking for food production. By the time you reach level 50 you will probably switch to something else for a different bonus set. The weapon slot is good for food production in the early levels, but not the late levels.

Accessory Slot(s) – This is the money slot for food production. There are tons of options and you start out with two slots in this area, with the potential to have three at end-game. There are so many pieces that give you a great food production increase, I’m just going to focus on the few that I personally like. At Hero Level 30, I pick up the Treatise which has both a solid food production bonus and a bonus to construction speed. At Hero Level 34, the Gold Necklace gives you bonuses to both food and silver production plus research speed. At Hero Level 40, the Icarus Wings and Chalice provide massive bonuses. You should be able to get a level four (blue) Icarus Wings at this level without any major issues which provides a huge 160% bonus to food production as well as a bonus to ranged attack and troop health bonus. If you need it, you can always double up with a pair of Icarus Wings to double your bonuses.

Depending on what crafting materials you discover early on in the game, I typically try to pickup the Myrmillo Helm, Winged Sandals, and Sickle as soon as possible. If you get all of those items at level two (white), you’ll have a bonus of over 100% just on crafted items alone. Then focus on getting level three (green) and level four (blue) materials and when you get into the 40’s for Hero Level pick up some Icarus Wings or a Chalice.

If you stack these bonuses with researching increased food production and by training your hero’s skills to increase it as well, then stack this with a good amount (twelve to fifteen) of high level farms, you will be pumping out enough food to feed a massive high level army.
