Game of War: Fire Age – Buy, Sell, or Trade Game of War Accounts, If you are a player in Game of War: Fire Age for any length of time, eventually you will be approached to buy, sell, or trade Game of War accounts. There are numerous websites and paths for these different transactions to be completed. But before you attempt to buy, sell, or trade a Game of War: Fire Age account, there are a few things you need to be aware of.
Account Transfers Are Against the Terms of Use
Transferring an account, whether it is buying, selling, or trading is against the terms of use listed by Machine Zone, Inc. The terms of use specify that your account is for your personal use only. You specifically agree not to sell, offer to sell, rent, lease, trade or otherwise transfer the account. This also goes for anything related to an account, such as gold, other virtual currencies, game resources, in-game services like speed-ups, or any other in-game item associated with the account.
With that being said, the above listed transactions are generally an accepted part of the game. Just know what you’re getting into if you partake in any of these dealings. There is a good chance that if you are caught doing so the account may be suspended or permanently banned. Also, if something goes wrong during the deal Machine Zone customer service isn’t going to help you fix the issue (not like they help with other issues really anyway, hehe).
- Buying and Selling Accounts
If you decide on buying or selling an account, there are several different things you should be aware of. First off look at the kingdom you are dealing with. Accounts in older kingdoms tend to sell for less money because there is a larger quantity of high level accounts available. There are also more high level players on older kingdoms, so moving up in the rankings is more difficult which makes the account less valuable.
Accounts in newer kingdoms tend to sell for more money because there are less high level accounts available. There are also less high level players on newer kingdoms, so acquiring a high level account in a newer kingdom can allow a player to make a bigger impact more quickly. They will be able to help their alliance more and challenge for the Wonder easier.
Stronghold Level 14 farm accounts that are maxed out for production of a single resource and have a high level hero specced for the resource are very valuable. As are Stronghold Level 21 farms that are maxed out for a single resource with an appropriately setup hero. Land Mines or Rally Traps are also fairly valuable as well. Finally, just a solid “main” account that is set up for a player to immediately come in and be competitive is also very valuable.
Overall, account prices will vary heavily from account to account and kingdom to kingdom.
New Players – There are newer players who don’t want to spend the time to level up an account. This may be their first account transaction in the game. They find value in paying a small amount of money (for them) to bypass all the hours it takes to get to either T3 or T4.
Current Players – Some more tenured players may purchase for a variety of reasons. They may be looking for additional farm accounts, they may be looking to switch realms, or they may want to change their setup or play style but they don’t want to go through the hassle of completely restructuring their account.
Power Players – To some players they are big spenders, to others they are “whales”. These are the players that spend an inordinate amount of money buying gold packs and resources. Money is less of an object to them and purchasing another account could be for a variety of reasons. Most of the purchased accounts are used as farm accounts.
If you are selling an account, I recommend talking to the prospective buyer (if this is realistic) to get a feel for them and why they are buying the account. Simply talking to someone can help give you an idea if they are a legitimate potential buyer or someone looking to scam you over.
Some transaction methods are better than others, but transferring an account in any way (buying, selling, or trading) comes with the risk of being scammed. You may get scammed out of your money when trying to purchase an account or lose your account without getting paid for it if you’re trying to sell. The worst part about it is, since these deals are against the terms of use, Machine Zone is not going to do anything to help you recover your losses.
Typically buyers and sellers will use PayPal to fund transactions. The buyer usually sends the seller money through PayPal. The buyer then sends the e-mail address they want to use for the game account to the seller. The seller will update the e-mail address to the buyer’s provided e-mail address. An e-mail confirmation is sent to the buyer’s account. The buyer changes the PIN to the account. That completes the sale.
Just be aware that to my knowledge a buyer cannot reverse a transaction through PayPal for digital property. In other words, if you pay for a Game of War account using PayPal and the deal goes bad PayPal isn’t going to refund your money.
If you’re buying one possible thing that could go wrong is that the seller simply doesn’t change the e-mail address after the buyer transfers the money. Or, if you’re selling an account and make the mistake of changing the e-mail address is changed, the buyer can change the account’s PIN and doesn’t have to pay. There are a multitude of ways to be scammed, but those are two common ones.
- How to Avoid Being Scammed
Golden Rule #1: If the deal feels weird, just don’t do it.
Golden Rule #2: If the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
Using middlemen can increase the cost of the transactions but may take away some of the risk. Or using a reputable broker site to buy or sell at may mitigate risk as well. Ask other players in your alliance or people that play the game that you trust. They can generally give you a good idea on safer ways to complete these transactions. Asking in a general chat, trading rooms, or forums is just asking for trouble.
Here is a list of several player to player account marketplaces and accounts brokers. BE ADVISED, use these websites at your own risk! Game Mastery Pro does not support or endorse any of these websites specifically. There are dozens, if not hundreds of them available on the internet. These are just a few.
eBay.com – It’s eBay…
EpicNPC – A player to player account marketplace
Game of War Exchange – Primarily for resources, not accounts
GOW4Sale.com – A player to player account marketplace
PlayerAuctions.com – A player to player account marketplace
PlayerTrade.net – Not recommended, known to be a scammer site
PlayerUp – A player to player account marketplace
Just remember, buying, selling, or trading accounts in Game of War: Fire Age is against the terms of use and can be a risky endeavor. However, it is definitely part of the game and isn’t going away any time soon. Just know that you are making these transactions at your own risk.
For players looking to get out of the game selling an account can be a way of recouping some money from the time and money they have already invested in the game. For those actively playing the game, it can be a way of saving time and short-cutting to their eventual in-game goals, whatever those may be.
Finally, I’ve already said it several times throughout this article but it bears repeating. If any transaction feels funny to you, don’t do it. It’s not worth losing your account or money over if you’re not confident that the deal will go through. Talk to players in your alliances or friends that have completed these transactions successfully before attempting to buy, sell, or trade accounts in Game of War: Fire Age.
