Game of War: Fire Age – The Treasury

Game of War: Fire Age – The TreasuryThis is a guest contribution from Appsorium.

Pretty much all of the big free to play games released recently have some form of currency that you purchase with real money. Often this allows you to bypass levels, acquire items instantly, skip content and greatly reduce game timers.  In Game of War: Fire Age this currency is…

Gold
Clearly Machine Zone needs to make money somehow and so they have always been keen to limit players from obtaining too much gold for free.  Whilst there are a few methods to earn gold such as gold mines, the casino and kill event prizes, there has never really been a reliable way to earn decent sums without opening your wallet.

It was therefore a nice surprise when the Treasury was released, a building of which the sole purpose is to produce gold for you passively.

Unlocking
The Treasury is unlocked at Stronghold level 15 and works in a similar way to a bank.  You deposit gold for a set length of time and when it matures you receive your original gold investment back, plus interest. You have the option to invest your gold for either 7, 14 or 30 days and the longer you invest, the higher your return.

At any point you can take your original investment back, but you will lose any interest accruing. Your original capital is always 100% safe.

Returns
Unlike the rest of the buildings in Game of War: Fire Age, the Treasury only has 7 levels. As you upgrade your Treasury you can invest larger sums of gold and receive a bonus to the interest rate. For the maximum return you should always leave your gold invested for 30 day periods.

The highest possible returns are as follows:
  • Level  1 – 10,250 gold x 85% = 8,712
  • Level  2 – 11,000 gold x 86% = 9,460
  • Level  3 – 12,000 gold x 87% = 10,440
  • Level  4 – 13,000 gold x  89% = 11,570
  • Level  5 – 14,000 gold x 92% = 12,880
  • Level  6 – 15,000 gold x 97% = 14,550
  • Level  7 – 20,000 gold x 105% = 21,000

This means that if you leave 20k gold invested in a level 7 Treasury you will receive 21,000 gold every month for free!

Warbonds
The downside is that the Treasury requires Warbonds to upgrade. Warbonds work in much the same way as the War Books needed to upgrade your Hall of War. They really have to be purchased in bulk from the Gold Store.

To upgrade from level 1 to 7 you need a total of 4,805 to Warbonds which will cost you 26,100 gold. Whilst this may seem like a large investment, you will actually earn this back in interest in less than two months of investing gold in your Treasury. After this point you are free to enjoy 21,000 free gold a month for the rest of your time in Game of War: Fire Age!
